The Lady Lions opened their season Monday night against the #2 ranked AAAAA Milton Lady Eagles.  In a game that was indicative of two powerhouse programs getting together - this one was a barn burner.  Hard fought, back and forth, speed, and intensity.

Milton came out and took the early 1-0 lead.  Shortly thereafter, Phoebe Palmer broke free from the Eagle defense and tied the game, 1-1.  After that, the offensive pendulum swung in favor of the Eagles, and they never looked back, scoring three unanswered goals to take the 4-1 win.  Baillie Burmaster and Shelby Jennings did get some quality chances, but the Eagle defense held.

The Lion defense was forced to play tough all night, as the Eagles outshot the Lions 14 to 7.  McCall Gardner made a number of key saves throughout the game to keep the Lions close, and Shelby Jennings stopped three shots while playing defense.

Next up the Lions face the Comets of South Gwinnett on Friday night.  Be There!
