JUNIOR VARSITY BOYS TIE NORTHVIEW 2-2 IN HOME OPENER

The Junior Varsity boys played their first home game of the season against the Northview Titans on Thursday night and they did not disappoint the friendly crowd.

Starting the first half on fire, the Lions came to play.  At the 31 minute mark of the first half, the Lions Sahil Mahajan delivered a brilliant ball to midfielder Evan Leima who buried it in the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.  With less than a minute to play in the half, Johnathan Perea of the Lions found Jordan Davis, who beat his mark and fired a shot past the Northview keeper for a 2-0 halftime lead.

The second half found Northview pressing to get back in the game, and with 16 minutes to play in the game they got on the board courtesy of a goal by #9.  With time running down and only 5:45 left on the clock, Northview scored the equalizer – deadlocking the match 2-2.

On the night, the Lions outshot the Titans 15 to 9, with Ridge keeper Josh Pence blocking 6 shots.  Next up: the JV Boys take on Norcross on Monday, February 28, at 7:30pm at Norcross High School.  Be There!
