PRHS SOCCER BOOSTERS AND WPI

ANNOUNCE 2011-2012 TRAINING PROGRAMS

The Peachtree Ridge Soccer Boosters and Coaches have entered into a relationship with Wellness Performance Institute (“WPI”) to offer injury prevention, conditioning and training throughout the 2011-2012 season. The program will consist of pre-season, in-season and post-season components.

Pre-Season Conditioning and Speed & Agility Training

Optional Pre-Season Conditioning / Speed and Agility Training are being offered to anyone who wishes to try-out for any of the PRHS Soccer Programs.

The professionally lead training sessions will be conducted by certified trainers utilizing the latest in training techniques. The sessions will be offered at WPI's state of the art, 53,000 Sq ft indoor facility located at 1075 Satellite Blvd. Suwanee, GA 30024, approximately 3 miles from PRHS. http://wpisc.net/sports-fitness.htm

Sport specific training sessions geared to PRHS Soccer participants will be provided twice daily on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at both 4 and 6 pm from December 1, 2011 to January 21, 2011. Additionally, participants may elect to train during any weekday in open speed & agility sessions starting on the hour beginning at 3 PM with the last class starting at 7 PM. The sessions will last approximately one hour in length and will be designed for soccer specific footwork, lateral (COD) and linear (Straight-Ahead) movement, explosion, quickness, power, speed, injury prevention (correcting landing and balance) and velocity.

WPI Pre-season training can be utilized by any athlete in addition to, or as an alternative to, the soccer pre-season conditioning being offered by Peachtree Ridge High School.

Players are responsible for travel to and from the WPI facility, and for arriving 10-minutes prior to session start times.

Pre-Season Testing

All PRHS Soccer Participants (whether training at WPI in the preseason or not) must attend a PRHS Pre-Season Testing session at WPI to establish a pre-season starting point in a number of key soccer measurements as determined by WPI and PRHS Soccer Coaches. Each athlete will then be retested at the end of preseason but prior to 01/21/11 to determine his or her progression. Areas of focus will include linear and lateral speed, their C.O.D. quickness, the hip explosion and flexibility, jumping ability and overall athlete ability. Pre-Testing dates will be held on a Saturday in December and shall be communicated to the athletes by coaches, through club email, and through the PRHS website. Results are shared with the athlete, coaches, and in aggregate with the booster club board. WPI will track training session attendance and provide records to the Booster Club and PRHS coaches.

WPI values its 6-week pre-season unlimited work-out program at $220.00; however, the PRHS Booster Club and WPI have teamed to offer this package to PRHS soccer participants at the following reduced rates:
