The JV Boys Lions worked to a very respectful 1-1 tie against the Mill Creek Hawks.

The night was windy and cold but our boys worked hard to stop the Mill Creek Hawks. The first half was very competitive and the Hawks seemed to stop us at every turn. Frustration seemed to take over our good senses and the Hawks scored first giving them the confidence they needed to keep us scoreless. We went into this game thinking we would come out on top and this was not the way the game was turning out. To top that off, Daniel Mamane was injured in the game, but Yuri Horstmann stepped in to keep the Hawks at bay. Coach Gardocki turned the boys around during half time though as they came out to start the second half with a much better edge to them. On an assist from Yuri Horstmann, Sam Aiken tied the game with a goal to bring the team back to life. The boys had a fire to them but just couldn't get past the Hawks defense or goalkeeper. Our defense worked hard to keep the game at a tie and Matthew Kearns did the same awesome job he always does in the goal!
