Tuesday night in the Lion’s Den was Senior night for Seniors Esther Cano, Brittany Gonzales, Olivia Hall and Macey Raines and all 4 Seniors played a critical role in their Region 7-AAAAAA win against the Duluth Wildcats. Defenders Cano and Hall, Keeper Gonzales held the Wildcats scoreless on the night displaying Senior Leadership to their younger teammates. Midfielder Raines placed a perfectly timed through ball at Forward Jordyn Missel’s feet, who then turned and fought her way past 2 Wildcat Defenders. The end result was a laser-accurate strike into the right bottom 90 of the goal for a 1-0 lead that would withstand the relentless Duluth attack. The Lions did have several other scoring opportunities only to be turned away by the Wildcat Keeper who had a solid game in her own right. With the win, the Lady Lions improves region play to 3-2 as they keep their hopes alive for a Post-Season berth in the State Playoff picture.
