LIONS LOSE FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON

The Lions were humbled at Collins Hill Tuesday night, to the tune of a 7-1 score.  "Not sure what to say," said Coach Ryan Sutton.  "We are obviously a much better team than what we showed tonight.  Collins Hill did everything right, and we gave them the time to not only do it, but to think about how they were going to do it - that was the frustrating part.  By not putting any pressure on them we allowed them to execute against us.  We cannot do that in any game, much less a Region 7, AAAAA match."

"We are a very good team.  So far this season we have played seven teams that are, or were, ranked in the top-ten state rankings when we played them.  Their combined records right now are 46-13-4.  Against those teams, the best of the best, our record is 6-1-0.  We are 9-1-0 overall.  We are tied for the second best overall record in the state.  No one can take that away from the Lions, we earned that record.  Don't get me wrong, we have a lot of work still do.  In a way, it is good to get this game on the table so we can see what can happen when we don't play hard.  I know the guys are down, but if we recognize that feeling and realize we never want to feel that again, then we will have learned from this game," explained Coach Sutton.  "We will get back after it this week at practice, and hopefully respond with a positive performance on Friday."

Next Game is Friday at Peachtree Ridge High School when the Lions take on Meadowcreek at 7:30pm, Be There!
